About the program

The
Program

A community-centered, developmental league built to grow confidence, skills and sportsmanship in young athletes.

Who we are

Four Oaks Community Youth Football is proudly supported by the Town of Four Oaks Parks and Recreation. It’s a safe, fun and developmental league for kids ages 5 to 12.

The program is driven by volunteer coaches who care about skill development, safe play, and making sure every player has the chance to get on the field and grow as an athlete.

Every player deserves playing time, and we work hard to make sure they get it.

That’s why we cap every team at 25 players or fewer. Smaller rosters give each kid ample time on the field, in practice and on game day.

We believe in teamwork, discipline and the joy that comes from working hard and achieving goals. Whether it’s your child’s first season or they’re a returning player, they’ll be part of a team that values growth, respect and community spirit.

How we
play

The standards every Four Oaks player, parent and coach signs up for. Games follow Johnston County Youth Football League rules.

Read the 2026 league rulebook
  1. Development comes first

This is a youth development league. Wins are great, but growth, effort and learning the game come first.

  2. Every player gets on the field

League rules require every player to get at least 4 plays per half, and our coaches aim well past that.

  3. Play in your age division

Players are placed by age: Rookie 5-8, JV 9-10 and Varsity 11-12. Varsity players are 11 or 12 and must not turn 13 before September 1 of that season.

  4. Show up for practice

Teams practice Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Let your coach know ahead of time if your player will miss.

  5. Safe play, always

Coaches teach proper technique and safe fundamentals at every level.

  6. Respect the game

Players, parents and coaches treat officials, opponents and teammates with respect, win or lose.

Volunteer coaches

Coaches
who care

For our coaches, it’s more than a game. Every Four Oaks coach is a volunteer, and from Rookie to Varsity they’re focused on developing young players: teaching the fundamentals the right way and helping kids build character on and off the field.

That means working hard, being a good teammate, respecting the game and having fun along the way.

Cardinals Cheer

Cheerleading

Cheer is part of the Four Oaks fall program. The Cardinals cheer squad supports our football teams from the sideline on game days, with the same focus on fun, teamwork and community that drives the whole program.

Cheer registration runs through the Town of Four Oaks Parks and Recreation, along with football. For cheer ages, practice times and uniform details, contact Andy Jackson with Four Oaks Parks and Recreation.
